The Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship visited Novi Grad’s textile businesses

The Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Srpska, Vjekoslav Petričević, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Novi Grad, Miroslav Drljača, visited the Novi Grad textile companies Sana Elvis in Svodna and Vastil in Poljavnice.

During the visit, they discussed business under the coronavirus pandemic conditions and the effect of problems on the economic entities.

It was assessed that employers are satisfied with the measures of the Government of Republic of Srpska which provided the minimum wages to workers for April, as well as taxes and contributions for March and due to those measures of the Government of Republic of Srpska there were no major lay-offs.

Minister Petričević pointed out that negotiations are underway with the Chamber of Commerce, the Union of Employers’ Associations, and the Chamber of Crafts and Entrepreneurship on the adoption of a set of measures for economic assistance and company liquidity.

The director of the company Vastil, Miroslav Stanković, said that there were no major problems in this company thanks to the assistance of the Government of Republic of Srpska in the payment of April salaries, while the director of Sana Elvis, Mira Lazić stated that she expected help from the Government for obligations to workers and the current liquidity as well so that the company would keep the existing number of workers.
